Make your day less frustrating: meet MEAT
Remember those times when you aimlessly wonder through the office looking for a free meeting room? Then you finally find a room only to be kicked out 5 minutes later.
A while back our IT team developed an app that makes booking rooms on the run a whole lot easier. Using an iPad/iPhone, the app let's you book a room or see what other rooms are available. It also syncs with your calendar system.
It's easy (I like easy) - and free (I like that too!) for any organisation to download and use.
You only need a few iPads to mount near your meeting room. Get your IT crew to download the app here! It's a NodeJS web app and you run it behind your firewall.
'Green' means that the room is free. You can quickly tap the screen to book the room right then and there. A bright 'red' screen indicates that someone else booked the room before you. But don't worry - a few taps on the screen allows you to check availability of all other rooms in the building, and book another one immediately. There's no need to bring your laptop and open Google Calendar.
Using your phone, you can even schedule your next meeting room while getting your coffee. I literally use the app every single day and it has removed many daily frustrations.
